It is an honor to walk with my clients on their healing journey. I have been a social worker for over 30 years. Early in my career, I provided therapy to foster care youth. Most of the youth had experienced trauma. With them, I learned the deep ways trauma affected their whole being. As a social worker, I was trained to “work with the whole person”. I have worked in outpatient settings with adults and youth for over 10 years. While working with foster children, I began treating ADHD and continue to enjoy my work with those individuals. I also work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I’m passionate about providing holistic and integrated care.

In 2019, I started working in private practice again. During the early days of COVID-19, we switched to telehealth. Clients loved it and it made therapy much more accessible. It worked so well for me that I now only provide telehealth sessions. During the last 15 years, I learned a great deal about the effect trauma has on the brain and the critical role mindfulness can play in restoring hope, confidence, and calmness. I’m passionate about incorporating mindfulness into my practice. Because I have a master’s degree in religion, I am happy to work with clients who want to discuss spirituality.

Currently, I only treat clients 18 and older. We work together to create a treatment plan addressing their goals. As a therapist, I work closely with prescribers. I make referrals to nutritionists, physical therapists, and other health professionals.

 

Outside work, I spend lots of time with my friends and family. I love to bake, especially pies. I also enjoy reading and traveling.
